GESTURE No. 001 — “Wisp”

$1,000.00

GESTURE No. 001 — “Wisp” the Bear

The Cuddle Revival Original — OOAK

Wisp looks as though he arrived already mid-becoming. His pale, flyaway coat refuses to settle neatly around him, gathering into great unruly tufts at his ears and trailing from his paws as though he has only just stepped out of a strong wind. Even sitting perfectly still, there is something about him that seems to be moving. His nose, hand-woven from embroidery thread, is open and unresolved by design — soft, tactile, and entirely his own. He is the first bear of the Gesture series, and there will never be another exactly like him.

He has never been particularly interested in being finished. Wisp believes there is something suspicious about people who know exactly where they are going, and something rather wonderful about changing your mind halfway there. He approves of abandoned plans, books with notes in the margins, rooms rearranged for no particular reason, and people who have become very different from who they once expected to be.

Perhaps that is why he is such good company during uncertain seasons. Wisp does not ask what comes next. He simply sits beside you while you find out. There is no hurry to become whatever you are becoming, and no requirement that the final version resemble the one you imagined at the beginning.

His hand-woven nose is deliberately soft and organic, bearing the small irregularities of something formed by hand. Like the rest of Wisp, it was never meant to look perfectly resolved.

Some things are loveliest while they are still becoming.
