“August”
Aurora, Rescued Terrier-Mix
August has the look of a dog who has come in from a long walk and has no intention of explaining where he’s been. His golden fur falls across his eyes, his dark muzzle peeks out from beneath it, and his ears seem to follow their own ideas about which way to lie.
He has appointed himself keeper of the household roll call. August likes a place near the door, where he can take note of each person coming home. He is very patient about late arrivals, though he does seem to listen a little harder whenever footsteps pass outside.
Once everyone is accounted for, he settles in wherever the evening happens to be. He asks for no grand adventure—just the familiar sounds of people moving from room to room, and a place among them when they finally sit down.
